BLAKE W. BERGER

Blake W. Berger has spent more than a decade litigating high-exposure civil matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, habitability claims, general liability, and products liability. He represents clients from the earliest stages of investigation through trial, guided by one consistent principle: "The best way to resolve a case is to prepare it as if it is going to trial.” That philosophy shapes every strategic decision, from discovery to mediation to courtroom advocacy. Mr. Berger has handled cases involving catastrophic injury allegations, complex causation disputes, contested liability scenarios, and significant claimed damages. He works closely with insurance carriers, property owners, businesses, and individuals, navigating high-stakes litigation.

Mr. Berger’s experience having worked on both plaintiff and defense matters in his career allows him to anticipate arguments before they are made, evaluate cases realistically, and communicate effectively with opposing counsel and mediators. He understands insurance carriers’ concerns, what motivates plaintiffs and their counsel, and how juries respond to facts and themes. The ability to see both sides creates leverage, and leverage often drives resolution.

As a third-generation attorney, law is part of Mr. Berger's family legacy. His father’s uncle practiced law, and both his father and brother are attorneys on the East Coast. Growing up around the profession instilled an early respect for advocacy, preparation, and professional responsibility. That foundation continues to shape how he approaches clients, opposing counsel, and the courtroom.

Mr. Berger obtained his JD from the University of San Diego School of law, and his BA in English Literature and World History from the University of Colorado Boulder. His background in English literature informs his litigation style. He approaches cases as narratives built on structure, clarity, and persuasion, because cases are ultimately decided by how clearly and credibly the story is told.

Mr. Berger believes the key to success in litigation is disciplined preparation combined with authentic communication. Clients rely on him not only to analyze risk but to explain it clearly and without legal jargon. He enjoys the strategic side of litigation, the human element of negotiation, and the responsibility that comes with trial work. At the end of the day, his role is straightforward: protect the client’s interests, prepare relentlessly, and earn credibility.
