JACK WITCHER - Office Manager

Mr. Witcher has managed the firm’s operations since 2020. His philosophy of law firm team management is rooted in friendly team-building, robust and ongoing training and mentorship, and technology-enabled efficiency. He strives for streamlined and seamless teamwork to power the firm’s legal services, working with paralegal, legal support, and accounting teams with an open-minded approach emphasizing responsiveness to employee feedback and frequent operational improvements.

Mr. Witcher holds a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and Media Studies from Reed College and a paralegal certificate from University of California, Los Angeles. He is a lover of music and plays the guitar, keyboard and saxophone, writing and recording songs in his free time.

 

ELIA MORELOS - Legal Operations Coordinator

Ms. Morelos combines client-centered advocacy with strategic operational systems. As the firm's Legal Operations Coordinator, she aims to continue expanding the firm's technology infrastructure and optimizing attorney and legal staff workflows to ensure cost-effective litigation, modern and creative strategies, and exceptional client service.

Prior to joining RSE, she honed her skills at the Los Angeles County Alternate Public Defender's Office, where she advocated for indigent criminal defendants. Her detail-oriented approach enabled her to build strategic partnerships across California that directly enriched client outcomes, securing sentence reductions, juvenile transfers, favorable probationary terms, and dismissals. Coupled with her experience streamlining the administrative management of a private psychiatric practice in Los Angeles, Ms. Morelos brings innovative solutions to ensure an organization steadily meets its goals of maintaining a client's best interests and expanding their business.

Ms. Morelos graduated from Cornell University with a BA in American Studies & English Literature. She is a proud champion of language and education access and utilizes her fluency in Spanish to enrich the experiences of monolingual clients navigating a complicated legal system. As both a professional and personal interest, she continues to study the ever-changing landscape of linguistics in English and Spanish and enjoys learning new languages.

 

Paralegals

 

LEISA SABASTA - Paralegal

Ms. Sabasta received her AA Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2007 and has over 15 years’ experience as a Litigation Paralegal.  She has worked in many areas of law, including complex and high exposure civil litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, post judgment collections, estate planning, family family, administrative law and bankruptcy.  She has a diverse professional background that includes 20 years in business operations, database  conversions, document automation, graphic design, sales and marketing.  

 

KAREN STRASSBERG - Paralegal

Ms. Strassberg is a Los Angeles native. She majored in Business Administration and Marketing while attending the University of California, San Diego. More recently, Ms. Strassberg earned her paralegal certification from the University of California, San Diego ABA certified paralegal program in 1990. She has over 30 years of paralegal experience and is a Senior Paralegal with the firm. She has extensive experience in all phases of litigation working exclusively in insurance defense. Ms. Strassberg has served as lead paralegal on complex litigation toxic tort, medical malpractice, personal injury, and products liability matters through all phases of litigation. Most recently, Ms. Strassberg focuses on habitability matters.

Outside of the office, Ms. Strassberg enjoys spending time with her four rescue cats and husky dog. She frequently hikes at local parks with her dog exploring new trails. She also likes to relax by taking weekend getaways to Santa Barbara and Palm Springs.

 

JUSTIN AGUILAR - Paralegal

Mr. Aguilar is a Southern California native. He obtained his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton in 2018. More recently, Mr. Aguilar obtained his paralegal certification from the Fullerton College ABA-certified paralegal program. Mr. Aguilar was inducted into Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) honor society by the American Association for Paralegal Education, and he has over 5 years of defense civil litigation experience.

Outside of work, Mr. Aguilar spends time with his family and 3 dogs, while also enjoying trips to the beach, mountains and Palm Springs.

 

Lauren Martinez - Legal Support Supervisor

Ms. Martinez has a paralegal certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Riverside. She has 5 years of experience as a paralegal and legal secretary and has worked in both plaintiff and defense civil litigation.
